Experience with large diameter cast-in-situ piling
Large diameter cast-in-situ piles have been used extensively in Israel during last 2 yr; piles up to 24 m long have been cast, using tremie methods below water table; results of pile loading tests and diamond-drill coring of completed piles are presented and analyzed; problems of execution are discussed; it is concluded that under certain circumstances and with careful execution, pile design loads corresponding to 50 kg/sq cm in concrete may be used safely.
