Behavior of prestressed concrete pressure vessel subjected to high temperature gradient
Measurements of mean strengths carried out on concrete at 450 days gave results of order of 37 kg/sq cm for tension and 380 kg/sq cm for compression; resistance to compression as function of temperature was measured on prismatic samples 7 × 7 × 28 cm in size and 28 days old; this concrete was also subjected to expansion, creep and thermal conductivity measurements; study was continued on 1/10th model of cylindrical prestressed concrete pressure vessel with no base or lateral opening.
