Twelve flat bottomed steel tanks will provide 40 mg of new storage for Long Beach. Calif, water system; tierods extend radially from central column, reinforced upper rim of tank, making it rigid and resistant to earthquakes; tanks, 132 ft in diam, having 3 1/2-mg capacity, are built of steel plate with bottom course 7/8 in. thick and top course 1/4 in. thick; each tank is covered with wooden roof structure.
