Flood-detectors on Katy
Flood detectors applied on high wooden trestle over stream bed north of Wichita Falls, Tex, on Northwestern Branch, are of new design, attached to down stream side of trestle; two detectors on separate bents, 14 ft apart used so that if one fails, other will provide protection; in each detector, box bolted to cap on top of piling contains signal circuit controller operated by up and down rod in vertical pipe extending down to float in housing bolted to cross bracing of trestle, 17 ft below track level.
