Microscopic observations on silica bricks
Some of mineralogical changes that take place when raw silica bricks are fired for 24 hr at various temperatures up to 1480 C; samples examined under microscope by means of transmitted and reflected light; bricks were made from ground silex (chalcedonic silica), fine quartz sand, little lime and sulphite lye. (See also - discussion p 200-7)
