Hydrated lime with pozzolanic components; conditions that make limestone suitable for hydrated lime manufacturing are indicated and some essential conditions of pozzolanic lime formation are discussed; as example of theories discussed, case is analyzed of limestone that was not considered suitable to produce hydrated lime, yet tests at pilot plant level, showed it fit for production of good quality pozzolanic lime; lime is industrially produced at Soprocal mill in Melipilla, Chile.
