Design of tightened screw bolt joints for impact loads
It is assumed that loads acting on joint cause elastic deformations and stresses; equation is derived expressing impact stress acting on bolt in terms of kinetic energy of impact, weights of joint system and impacting load, and elastic deformations of bolt and joint components; formula permits determination of axial central force of joint tightening, axial tensile force acting on bolt, and resulting axial compressive force acting on joint components; theory is applied to designing screw bolt joint of pile driver.
