Weak secondary current that occurs in flow through noncircular conduits is studied; equations giving magnitude of secondary velocities near corner are developed; these equations are based on empirical data of primary velocity distribution; experimental measurements of secondary current tend to confirm validity of relationships and solutions; experimental measurements were conducted in 90°, V-shaped open channel to determine distribution of primary velocity.
