Deflections of multiple-panel reinforced concrete floor slabs
Approximate method is developed to calculate short-time deflections of floor slabs; results of method are compared with those of " exact" solutions and tests on five multiple-panel reinforced concrete test structures; short-time deflections of reinforced-concrete slabs under existing working loads are predicted on basis of uncracked sections; it is stressed that slab construction may owe its successful behavior under working loads primarily to tensile strength of concrete.
