General problems of tunnel lighting under daylight conditions are examined with particular emphasis on tunnel entrance and exit and driver's adaptation from daylight to darkness of tunnel; use of daylight is proposed by employing louvers of special construction dimming daylight and evading direct sunlight; description of louver elements having horizontal base and vertical edges; base is rhombus, shorter diagonal of which is in North-South direction; lighting of tunnel interior and brightness levels required.
