Vibration of thin shells under initial stress
Analytical investigations of vibrations of initially stressed circular cylindrical shells are reported; using general bending theory of shells under influence of initial stress, simple but accurate expressions for resonant frequency are presented; expressions are applicable to wide range of shell parameters; results are compared with those of previous investigations; experimental results.
