Strength of reinforced concrete folded plate models
Experimental study of behavior of two reinforced concrete folded plate models, under load, and identical in all respects except for manner and volume of reinforcement is presented; reinforcement requirements weredetermined for first model by folded plate analysis based on elasticity method and requirements for second model were determined by elementary beam theory; experimental results through elastic, inelastic, and ultimate ranges are examined and compared with theoretical predictions; both models exhibited similar behavior and both sustained ultimate loads equal to four and one-half times design load.
