Moment-curvature characteristics of reinforced concrete members subjected to axial load and reversal of bending
Method of analysis was developed, assuming linear strain distribution over section, elasto-plastic stress-strain relationship of steel neglecting Bauschinger effect, and elasto-plastic stress-strain relationship of concrete replacing real curve and neglecting any stress in tension; effects of variables were studied using this analysis; tests were made on three reinforced concrete specimens, making all measurements in constant moment region of specimen; validity and limitation of theoretical analysis were checked; it was found that agreement was almost perfect for initial loading and for first reversal made slightly after yielding in initial loading.
