Experiments were performed to ascertain effect of cement content on permeability of concrete and of certain admixtures on rate of migration of moisture through concrete sections; several concrete batches were mixed, with cement and aggregate proportions corresponding to plain (nonadditive) mix recommendations of Sydney, Australia concrete supplier; it was observed that capillary absorption is reduced considerably for cement contents up to about 600 lb/cu yd; test rig to measure migration rate through concrete specimens is shown.
