Application of prestress to light weight concretes
Study deals with concretes of specific weight in 1500 to 1800 kg/cu m range made with expanded shale aggregate or with sand and Rhine gravel; test program included determination of mechanical and physical properties of light weight and ordinary concretes (crushing and tensile strength, shrinkage, creep, permeability) as well as comparative behavior study of two prestressed concrete beams of same sizes, made of light weight and ordinary concrete, submitted to bending tests.
