Preliminary deoxidation and hydrogen content in steel
Results of investigation of carbon and alloy steels show that increase in hydrogen in sample taken after addition of ferrosilicon can be explained by fixation of hydrogen in metal killed by silicon; tapping of metal in boiling state helps its effective degassing with noticeable decrease in hydrogen content.
