Use of Pulvatex, Mealorub and waste rubber as additives to bitumen; test methods outlined; results indicate Pulvatex, unvulcanized rubber powder, is best suited as it is easily incorporated; rubberized asphalt prevents road surface cracking, gives greater impact resistance, and binding medium is tough and shows good cohesion and adhesion; application to top or wearing coat of roads, and as mastic asphalt on bridge surfaces.
