Manner in which readings of shore durometer vary with time was studied for 16 different compounds of natural and synthetic rubbers; data obtained from motion pictures showing durometer and stop watch in same field of view; to eliminate personal factor durometer was mounted in frame and pressure was applied by dead weight loading; results discussed.
