Buckling of eccentrically loaded steel columns
Inelastic buckling of steel columns subjected to combined action of axial thrust and nonsymmetrical end moments is studied with aid of approximate interaction curves; eight interaction equations arise for different ranges of parameters involved in problem; these equations may be used directly to calculate buckling loads of steel columns of wide flange or box sections; graphs are presented to facilitate determination of buckling loads for 8 to 14 wide flange steel column sections made of A36 steel; graphs presented should prove to be useful in stability analysis of eccentrically loaded steel wide flange columns simply supported at both ends.
