Prestressed concrete highway bridges in France
Over 500 km of highway bridges and overpasses were constructed during past four years; prestressed concrete bridges are presently designed at rate of 120/yr; this was made possible by standardization, automatic computation, and automatic design systems introduced in France since 1962; several types of standardized highway bridges are shown; some of them were constructed in large series (69 bridges built simultaneously) giving considerable economy in design time and cost.
