New design concept in long span, precast, prestressed concrete highway bridges was developed for crossing at Florida's Sebastian Inlet; main span of 180 ft was required and 100-ft side spans were used to complete channel crossing; superstructure consists of 65-ft girders extending from terminal piers to splice points, 65-ft girders extending from splice points across channel piers and cantilevering 30 ft beyond, and 120-ft drop-in girders to complete 380 ft channel crossing.
