Highway bridge vibrations III -- Cantilever-type structures
Simple method for predicting natural frequency of vibration of cantilever-type highway bridges; experimental evidence supporting proposed analysis is provided in three forms -- measurement of natural frequency of series of model cantilever-type beams, comparison of predicted natural frequencies using proposed technique and natural frequency of actual bridges as reported by other authors, and results obtained from field test carried out as part of this research project; recommendations are made concerning limitation of allowable deflection of cantilever-type structures.
