First stage of post-war development of Liverpool airport
Improvements to Liverpool, England airport; planning and structural design to strengthen apron and main runway, extend main runway by 500 ft at its west end and construct 60-ft wide taxiways parallel to main runway; second stage being planned provides for completely new runway of upwards of 7000 ft in length to south of existing airfield; this will be followed by construction of new apron areas and terminal buildings to cope with anticipated increase in passengers and freight.
