Construction features of Yellowtail 525 ft high concrete arch dam at mouth of Bighorn Canyon, Mont, with crest length of 1450 ft and powerhouse capacity of 250,000 kw; dam will impound 1.4 million acre-ft of water and benefit Garrison dam on Missouri River by trapping 4450 acre-ft of sediment annually; alluvial fan 3/4 mi downstream from dam-site provides aggregate for project; construction of double-duty diversion bore and grouting of tunnels in abutments are described.
