Bond between concrete and steel
History of development of deformed bars and some recent research on bond in Germany, United States and Belgium; deficiency of present Code of Practice CP 114 (1957) with regard to permissible bond and tensile stresses and method of assessing bond strength of bars is pointed out; technique for determining stress in reinforcement in concrete members and bond stress between bars and concrete; analytical method for determining constituents of bond is discussed and related to experimental results; only plain bars are dealt with but similar methods may be applicable to deformed bars.
