Relation between reduction in specific volume of products of hydration and strength of pastes, mortars and concretes made with portland cement, portland-blastfurnace cement and mixtures of portland cement and blastfurnace slag
Study of strengths of mixes having wide range of aggregate-cement and water-cement ratios; strengths ranging from 1900 to about 18,000 psi were correlated with reduction of specific volume of products of hydration; relationship was found to be similar to that connecting strength with gel-space ratio as first proposed by Powers.
