New Gladesville Bridge across Paramatta River, arm of Sydney Harbor, is 1000-ft span; when complete it will consist of arch of 4 box section concrete ribs tied together, supporting deck of prestressed concrete beams carried on slender prestressed concrete columns; over water, columns are supported on arch; central section of deck 300 ft long is carried directly on ribs; deck carries 72 ft of roadway in 6 lanes, plus 2 6-ft wide footpaths.
