Slip circle method for analysis of stability of earth dams
Method based on K.E.PETTERSON's investigations; under assumption that line of failure of slides in earth slopes approaches arc of circle it is possible to locate circle which gives least resistance to shear; ratio of total shearing strength to total shearing stresses is taken as factor of safety against sliding; slip circle analysis for dams of composite cross section given.
