Dowty "Roofmaster" powered-support system: development and early experiences
System is characterized by use of support frames of rigid roof and floor members supported by yielding hydraulic props, two and three prop units are connected to armored conveyor by jacks in floor members, and carry cantilever roof beams; underground trials and installation of supports; method of operation and manpower required; maintenance; test results show increase of productivity with use of Roof-masters.
