Study of gamma-ray penetration conducted by National Bureau of Standards at Nevada Proving Grounds; penetration was determined in stack of seven reinforced concrete slabs, constructed in pit 8 1/2 ft square and 40 in. deep with Geiger counters inserted between slabs; results of investigation are useful in development of suitable shelters against radiation from nuclear weapons.
