Mechanism of reaeration in natural streams
Turbulent flow theory, both isotropic and non-isotropic, has been utilized to formulate theory of reaeration in natural streams, which have been subjected to deaeration by biological oxidation of organic matter; general differential equation of oxygen balance in river is accepted as basis for analysis and theoretical derivation of reaeration coefficient is presented; field data from sanitary river surveys.
