Standard steel arrangements for concrete floors
Floor slabs, uniformly loaded beams, beams with one concentrated load at mid-span, and beams with two concentrated loads at third points, may all have standard steel arrangements irrespective of load and span; it is then possible to derive weight constants for steel in terms of steel area at center of span giving steel weight per square yard for slabs and per foot linear for beams; examples of each floor system are given.
