Investigation of bituminous waterproofing material from excavations at Mohenjo-Daro (Indus-Valley); consisting mainly of artificial mixture of asphaltic bitumen, wet clay and gypsum; bituminous component has been altered considerably during 50 centuries after its application; choice of materials indicates relationship with Sumerian methods of manufacture.
