Municipal stadia, gymnasia, sports grounds and ice skating rinks are under jurisdiction of Dept of Athletics; swimming pools are placed under City Public Works Dept, and children's playgrounds under City Parks Director; building of sports installations is supervised by Dept of Civil Engineering; city plan provides for increasing number of athletic facilities from present 23 to 41, each with area from 40,000 to 90,000 m2; illustrated descriptions of some stadia and district sports centers. are presented.
