Resonant vibration technique for laboratory determination of shear wave velocity
Procedure for determination of shear wave velocity in infinitely large masses of materials from data obtained with resonant-frequency testing equipment; method utilizes cylinder or prism laboratory specimens, and only resonant test value needed is frequency of first mode of torsional vibration; results for concrete prism, grout cylinder, limestone rock core, and aluminum prism are discussed.
