Velocity of propagation of discharge wave in previously loaded tunnel is very different from velocity in open channel; approximate formula was previously established for rectangular cross section tunnel; formulas are established for circular tunnel in view of practical application, particularly in case of surge tank having tail race expansion tunnel.
