Flood frequency as function of catchment characteristics
Discharge records of 57 catchments in Great Britain were analyzed and parameters of frequency distributions of annual maxima obtained and correlated with area slope and mean annual rainfall of catchments; relations between mean annual maximum discharge and catchment characteristics made it possible to obtain estimate of flood of any given return period; to demonstrate use of several formulas worked examples are given.
