Dimensions for poolroom to be built with adjacent reading alcove were laid out as follows -- main area was set at 15×19 ft, and alcove at 8×12 ft; there was existing crawl space under living room, which seemed to be practical location for poolroom area; reading alcove was to be excavated from under music room; objectives of lighting design were to convey feeling of daylight and cheerfulness, along with sense of spaciousness; details of lighting are presented.
