Heavy duty diesel powered hydraulic pipe line dredge was built for Arundel Corp by Ellicott Machine Corp; unusual design feature is system regulating quantity of materials excavated, activated by single lever, whereby digging control is fully automated; this system regulates and correlates speed of cutting and power requirements to accommodate nature of materials encountered in dredging; dredge is 160 ft long by 40 ft wide by 11 ft 6 in. deep; of three General Motors turbocharged 16-567D6 diesel engines, each rated at 2400 hp, two furnish power for main pump, and third drives three generators supplying electricity.
