Bearing capacity of simple supported cylindrical shells of reinforced concrete
Series of tests were made at Denmarks Ingeniorakademi (Engineering Academy) to study behavior of these shells at failure, and to determine their load-bearing capacity as function of their length, which was only variable parameter in tests; formula is deduced for calculation of load-bearing capacity of long shells; tests showed that it is justifiable to calculate their load-bearing capacity in same way as that of ordinary reinforced concrete beam.
