Simplified network planning system for use in construction industry; to eliminate certain weak points and difficulties presented by event-oriented CPM and PERT methods in their application to construction industry, new activity-oriented method based on unit-construction principle and called BKN (BauKasten-Netz) was developed at Institute of Construction Management, Muenchen Institute of Technology; method is explained in example of structural alteration of large department store; it proved to be simple and less time-consuming than usual event-oriented methods.
