New approach for prediction of true ultimate strength of concrete
New approach consists essentially of estimating true ultimate strength from study of variation of rate of strain with respect to applied load from results of short-time rate of stress test; experimental results are compared with those obtained by log-log plot and volumetric strain methods; true ultimate strength of plain concrete in compression is found to be 74 to 85% of ultimate strength of concrete obtained from short-time test.
