Behaviour of no-fines concrete panels as infill in reinforced concrete frames
Experimental data on strength of reinforced concrete frames with infill panels of no-fines concrete when subjected to lateral (racking) loads; walls tested were constructed to represent, full-size, typical story height of this type of composite shear-wall construction as used widely in Great Britain to resist wind forces in multi-story buildings; frame of similar construction but without infill panel of no-fines was also tested; article contains discussion on beneficial effects of composite action and considers conservative recommendations for design of tall buildings under horizontal loading.
