Shear strength of prestressed lightweight aggregate concrete flat plates
Tests to failure of 10 test specimens 3 ft sq, 3 in. thick, and with column stub at center of one side; column size, amount and placing of steel, and concrete strength were held constant with amount of prestress being only variable; behavior of specimens is reported in terms of cracking, load-deflection curves, variation in cable force with load, and mode of failure; comparisons of measured and computed strengths using several empirical formulas and also two empirical equations relating shearing strength to initial and ultimate cable force.
