Dynamic safety analysis of multistory buildings
Response of multistory buildings to class of nonstationary random excitation of earthquake type is obtained under assumption that building can be treated as shear beam with damping properties that make model analysis possible; two different distributions of shear rigidity along height of building are considered; variance of story displacement is computed as significant response; probability that specified level of stresses in columns of building will be exceeded, is estimated at each story for measure of safety.
