Analytical expressions for dead-weight bending moments in two types of serial construction employed for concrete continuous beams; residual bending moments acting in continuous beams constructed span-by-span are dealt with; residual moments developed when serial construction is carried out on elastic support medium, such as falsework are examined; although developed for analysis of prestressed concrete continuous bridges, results are applicable to other structural materials.
