Atmospheric water resources research program
Progress report of Bureau of Reclamation of practical application of weather modification techniques for improving water supply of United States is presented; program is divided into field experiments, field support, and laboratory studies; descriptions of each project and some important results are presented; field experiments involve investigations of orographic and convective clouds during winter and summer in six major river basins of West; field support of various types is provided by three government agencies; variety of problems studied in laboratory include instrumentation, cloud physics, and evaluation techniques; many studies are conducted in conjunction with field experiments.
