Reaction surface in electroslag remelting
Study was conducted to investigate elimination of nonmetallic inclusions during electroslag remelting; film of molten metal which forms at electrode tip is thin, and this enables slag to react effectively with nonmetallic inclusions in metal; increasing diameters of mold and electrode and increasing melting rate reduce thickness of film of molten metal on electrode tip.
