Combined functional hydraulic structures of earth and rockfill dams
Combined hydraulic structures have proved to be suitable control facilities of earth and rock-fill dams; facilities of this type built in Czechoslovakia form part of dams 10 to 70 m high built on water-courses with flood flow of up to 260 cu m/sec; conception of combined structure is determined by type of spillway; shaft spillway forming part of combined structure is usually designed with spiral flow regime and free crest; bottom outlets are often closed by fixed dispersion cone valves; tail-race tunnel always has free flow regime and terminates in divergent stilling basin.
