Circulation-effects on performance of closed-conduit spillways with drop-inlet entrance
Results of model tests show effects of circulation of flow around drop-inlet entrance to closed-conduit spillway on hydraulic performance of spillway; three degrees of circulation tested were no circulation, normally developed circulation, and forced circulation; approach depths in test section investigated were deep approach with crest of drop inlet well above elevation of floor of approach channel, and flush approach with drop-inlet crest at same elevation as floor of approach channel; results of tests are analyzed and compared with data obtained by other authors.
